Scope and Contents
This collection contains a scrapbook of newspaper articles ranging from 1928 to 1943 concerning Blaker’s Teachers College, which became affiliated with Butler in 1929 and is now the College of Education at Butler University. The scrapbook was kept by Gertrude Hecker Winders, who oversaw publicity for the college. The newspaper clippings cover the college as well as founder Eliza Blaker.

Historical Notes
The Teachers College of Indianapolis was founded by Eliza Blaker, a pioneer in early childhood education in 1882. This Teachers College of Indianapolis became affiliated with Butler University in 1929 and is now the College of Education at Butler University.
