Biographical Note

William Allen Daily (1912-1998) was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and graduated from Butler University and Northwestern University. He was a research microbiologist who worked for the Eli Lilly Company for 36 years and served as the algae curator for the Friesner Herbarium at Butler University. He published many papers with Butler University Botanical Studies. William A. Daily was married to Butler University chemist and botanist Fay Kenoyer Daily, with whom he authored History of the Indiana Academy of Science, 1885-1984.
