This collection is composed of the teaching and educational materials of Georgia Ann Pitcher, a Butler University graduate who focused on early childhood development. It includes documents and papers concerned with early childhood development, what appear to be class notes, a scrapbook and other personal documents.

Biographical Note
Georgia Ann Pitcher attended Butler University beginning in the summer of 1944. She was an active member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and received her bachelor's degree in elementary education in 1948 and later her master's degree in early childhood education, both from Butler University. She would also go on to earn a doctorate in child psychology and development from Purdue University. During her career Georgia Ann worked in academia and in hospitals as well as opened her own practice with a focus on children and families. She had a large family, including four children and eight grandchildren, and in her free time enjoyed film, fashion, and dance.

Separated Materials
The original inventory indicates there were two Froebel gifts (educational wooden toys for children) as a part of this collection; however, upon revisiting the collection to complete the collection guide, they could not be located.
