Scope and Contents
This collection comprises four large scrapbooks created by 1935 Butler University graduate Eleanor Vivien Holt Lockwood. The scrapbooks from Boxes #1 and #2 are more recent, are bound, and are in good condition. They contain photographs, playbills, newspaper clippings, and handwritten notes by Ms. Lockwood indicating who, what, where, when and how she enjoyed the various events, including Butler football games, Starlight Musicals, and plays at the Avondale Playhouse. Many of those in the photographs are her family members. The scrapbooks in Boxes #3 and #4 are from the 1930s and in more delicate condition. They represent campus life with newspaper and magazine clippings about Butler and Butler students, drawings, invitations to dances and other events, dance cards, and handwritten notes.
