Historical Note
The American Association of University Women was founded in 1881 as a non-profit organization that advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, and research. The Education Foundation became incorporated into the larger organization in 1958, emphasizing different universities and schools and their research. Butler seemingly held involvement with this organization around 1959-1966, at the time they also had a dean specifically for women of the university, though they no longer seem affiliated.
