Scope and Contents

This collection contains materials relating to the Butler University Women’s Caucus. This includes a pamphlet outlining their brief history and mission. There are various printouts from the Office of Women in Higher Education’s website that include how to develop leadership, how to advance to a higher position, and how to get more women involved within higher education. Additionally, there are a few papers highlighting the issues and policies that the Women’s Caucus wished to address.

Historical Note

The Butler Women’s Caucus was formed in the spring of 2002 by Dr. Margaret Brabant and Dr. Ann Savage. The Women’s Caucus mission is to seek fair and equitable treatment, a non-hostile work climate, and a campus free of gender bias for all women, regardless of rank and standing, race, religious affiliation, sexual identify, body ability and size. The Women’s Caucus acted as a voice for women to advocate for women, particularly female employees, within the Butler University community.
