Historical Note
The Center for Faith and Vocation was established in 1995 as a collection of established campus religious organizations: Campus Crusade, Newman Center, Luthran Campus Ministry, and the Jewish Student Union (later Hillel). This collective organized seminars and lectures. The campus religious organizations expanded, and in 2000-2001, began applying for grants. After receiving an endowment from the Lilly Foundation and closing the Newman Center, the Center for Faith and Vocation opened the Blue House and expanded their educational offerings to Faculty Workshops and Travel opportunities.
In 2024, the Center for Faith and Vocation was renamed to “The Compass Center.”
