Scope and Contents
This collection contains the records of Butler Club from 1983-1984 and 1987-1988. The Butler Club organized Butler University alumni, parents and friends to promote community activities, special events, and fundraising for the university. The records were originally organized into two binders, and the files document lists of alumni, event planning, and Club reports from the locales in which they were organized.

Historical Note
The Butler Club was a service-oriented social club for Butler University alumni, parents, and friends designed to encourage participation in the life of the university and create community interest in Butler. The club promoted Butler University through special events, student recruiting, career planning and placement, fund raising, alumni record maintenance, and assisting recent Butler graduates. The first ten clubs were established in St. Louis, Northwest Indiana, Chicago, Louisville, Columbus, Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, South Bend, Cleveland, and Cincinnati. Additional clubs were established in Florida, Texas, and California.
