Scope and Contents
This collection consists of the papers and publications of the Christian Theological Seminary and newspaper clippings. The papers include communication between Butler University and the Christian Theological Seminary between 1959-2018 defining the relationship between the two institutions, contracts, agreements, course listings, etc. The publications are varied and include advertising pamphlets, bulletins, directories, and theses. The collection is largely chronological within each series, and within the folders.

Historical Note
The Christian Theological Seminary is an institution of religious education formed from the Butler University School of Religion when it separated from the University in 1959. The Christian Theological Seminary and Butler University have maintained a cooperative relationship in the years since, the nature of which has been redefined by several contracts which appear in this collection. Most recently, the Christian Theological Seminary has opened its campus at 1000 W 42nd St to the College of Education as of 2018.
