The School of Physical Education and Athletics was to conduct a school of gymnastics, theory and practice of physical training, anatomy, physiology and hygiene, and related subjects. This school was meant to be helpful to Butler University as an educational institution in carrying on certain departments of educational work, such as creating suitable buildings for the carrying out of physical training and athletic activities of Butler University. The school itself was more of a corporation/company under the operation and management of Butler University given money/stocks to provide the above services. The business affairs of this corporation were managed by a Board of Trustees selected by the Board of Directors of Butler University.
