Historical Note
The Butler Alumnae Literary Club was officially founded in 1911 as a book club with the purpose of reading great literature. It had begun unofficially as a social club for the women who had graduated from Butler in 1909 to stay connected. The organization continued to gather and offer social events with fluctuations in reading topics and membership numbers before ending in 2018 due to a lack of new members.
