Barbara Fowler speech class notes, 1939
This collection contains handwritten notes presumed to be written by Barbara Fowler during her speech class in 1939. It also includes an accompanying class workbook.
Betty Murnan-Smith correspondence, 1943 - 2005
The collection contains many letters written by Murnan-Smith who was a professor at Butler University. The first folder has letters that were written in the 1940s to Betty herself. The second folder is full of cards that were written by Betty, mostly to ger friend Margy and were written in the early 2000s.
Beula Mae Smith diary, 1909
Photocopy of Beulah Mae Smith's diary of 1909, in which she describes her daily activities as a student at Butler University. She writes a brief synopsis for each day, including what work was like and eating supper.
Black Family papers, 1864 - 2005
Files documenting the Black family and their connection to Butler University. Files include two letters written to B. A. Black by his mother in 1930. It also contains photocopies of a book kept by Warren Black; a scrapbook mostly containing newspaper clippings from the mid 1920s regarding then Butler University football player Art Black; various Black family items related to World War II; photocopies of degrees from Butler University; and photographs of various family members.

Butler University 9/11 Memorial Book, 2002
Memorial book containing handwritten notes recording the feelings of students, faculty, and staff as they remember the events of 9/11 a year after it happened. This was offered to students outside of Atherton Union on Butler University’s campus. Students were able to write something with marker and sign it. Many of the sentiments have to do with prevailing through hard times as a country, freedom, and prayer.

Photographs from the 1940s of the U.S. Army Air Forces Band at Butler University and at Hinkle Fieldhouse. There is description of the photographs on the back. Many of the pictures include band conductor Robert J. Schultz who also worked at Shortridge High School.
