This collection contains various materials regarding Milton L. Farber Jr. and his career at Butler University as a professor, focusing on his committee work. Biographical Note
Milton L. Farber Jr. (1929-2015) received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University (Ohio) in 1950. He earned his Master of Arts in 1951 and his Ph.D. in 1959 from Ohio State University. Farber became a part-time faculty member as an Assistant Professor of History at Butler in 1961 and became a full-time faculty member the next year. Working his way through the ranks, Farber was promoted to Professor of History in 1976. During his career at Butler, he served on a number of committees, including the Committee on Academic Change and Improvement, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences; Faculty Committee on University Governance; and the Executive Committee of Butler University Faculty Assembly. Farber said a goal of the Constitution of the Faculty Assembly of Butler University was to create a closer relationship between the faculty and the Board of Trustees.
