Biographical Note

A life-long Indiana resident, Norman Wilkins received his bachelor’s degree in Radio/Television from Butler University in 1957. He also served as an adjunct professor in the Butler College of Communication for 21 years. The bulk of this collection is about his family; however, it also tells the history of Indiana and Butler University, specifically about Butler sports. Wilkens was very active as an alumnus and in 2017 received the Butler Medal from the Butler University Alumni Association. He received a key to the city of Indianapolis in 2000 and worked with multiple presidents and their campaigns. Norman Wilkins passed away in August 2023.
