Scope and Contents
Manuscript entitled “White Petals,” a fictional account of life at Butler College at the beginning of the 1900s. Butler is known as “Christan College” in the manuscript and faculty members are described as the author knew them at Butler. The student characters are all fictitious. An Author’s Note is found at the back of the manuscript. The author, Lucile C. Marshall, graduated from Butler in 1906.

Biographical Note
Lucile C. Marshall graduated from Butler College in 1906. She was the cousin of Thomas Carr Howe, president of Butler from 1908 to 1920. A photograph of Thomas Carr Howe and Lucile C. Marshall as a child is found in MSS-SM 074.
