25 5”x 7” photographs of plates from books in the Butler University Special Collections Charters Collection. They include photographs of plates with European depictions of people, landscapes, and customs in the South Seas. It is unclear how the repository acquired this collection; it is also possible that the repository created this collection. Some of the photographs are from books regarding Captain Cook’s voyages to the South Seas.

Scope and Contents This collection includes a pin and medallion with the inscription “Universitas Legionensis” from the Universidad de León, Spain. It also included a Spanish-language facsimile of Milagros de San Isidoro, originally written in the 13th century by Bishop Lucas de Tuy and translated into Spanish in 1525 by Juan de Robles. Scope and Contents Three letters written by James Gloin and Max Norris. It includes a letter regarding the affairs of Butler in 1971 about the new science complex and city issues.
