 File — Box: 1, Folder: 12

Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

This collection is composed of papers written by George O. Comfort, the bulk of which appear to be speeches given to a variety of audiences. George O. Comfort was a professor of political science at Butler University from 1949 until his retirement in 1975. The speeches address Republican Party concerns, the judiciary, the purpose of political parties, West Africa, the Electoral College, and more. In addition, the collection contains the typed statement Comfort made in 1969 before a three-judge federal panel regarding multi-member district representation. Many of these papers appear to be typed drafts, with handwritten notes and corrections.
